August Update: Course Correction on US Shipping — Express DHL Launch Underway

A brief but important update from the quarterdeck regarding US‑bound shipments and our path forward.
We originally planned to dispatch through UPS, but upon final confirmation we were informed that backers would be charged customs taxes upon arrival—an outcome we’ve pledged to avoid for this campaign’s rewards. After refusing those terms, our forwarder began negotiating alternatives. Around the same time, the US announced new tariff measures set to take effect later this month, adding urgency to secure a solution that avoids surprise charges on delivery.
To keep our promise and maintain predictability, we’re moving US parcels to an express service with DHL under terms that prevent backers from being billed import duties at the doorstep. You will receive an email from DHL with your tracking number as each parcel is released into their network. As of yesterday, our forwarder has already dispatched approximately 25% of the remaining US shipments, with the rest rolling out in waves over the coming days. All US parcels should be sent by next week.
For non‑US backers, fulfillment begins right after the US wave departs, following the same “no surprise fees on arrival” principle wherever possible under local rules.

We wanted to share some important news from The Captain’s Logbook. As of June 30th, we celebrated what we believed was the completion of all shipments. Spirits were high and relief filled our sails, knowing your long-awaited cargo was finally en route or in your hands.
However, as any seasoned sailor knows, even the best charts can miss a hidden reef. We have just discovered that our shipping forwarder made an error with the backers’ file, and roughly 100 parcels were not sent out as planned.
Who is affected?
This concerns most backers who were waiting for a 3-item bundle:
- Hardcover book
- Logbook
- Plus another physical item
We have already emailed all affected backers to inform you of the situation and apologize directly. Please check your inbox (and SPAM folder, just in case!).

Ahoy, crew!
The tide has brought us good news—the full cargo has arrived safely at the forwarder's warehouse! Most of the crates reached port in fine condition, though one stubborn crate took a bit of damage. Fret not—we've planned ahead and have more than enough stock to ensure every backer receives their rightful share of the treasure.
The first parcels have already set sail, starting with the book + logbook shipments. The forwarder began with the smaller boxes, and deliveries are now en route.

Ring the ship's bell and sound the horns! Our merchant vessel has safely reached harbor on the 8th of May, just as the stars foretold. Neither tempest nor corsair crossed our path, and our precious cargo-your much-awaited treasures-has arrived intact and ready for the next leg of the journey.
Customs Inspection Underway
The crates now sit upon the docks, awaiting the scrutiny of the customs officials. Their quills hover over ledgers as they inspect our manifest, a necessary ritual before your rewards can continue their voyage to your hands. As mentioned in our previous dispatch, this process may take anywhere from three days to a fortnight. We stand ready at the harbor, awaiting their signal to proceed.
Final Call: Update Your Charts by May 11th!
Urgent reminder! Tomorrow, May 11th, marks the final day to ensure your shipping coordinates are accurately plotted on your manifest. After this date, our navigational charts for dispatch will be sealed. Should your treasure need to be rerouted or resent after June 30th due to an outdated address, additional shipping fees, like an unexpected levy in a foreign port, will be your responsibility.

Next Steps on the Horizon
Once customs grants clearance, our trusted post offices will load their vessels with your rewards. The crossing to your shores will take approximately four weeks, meaning the most eager among you should begin watching your horizons by early to mid-June.

Customs on the Horizon
Once we make port, our crates must pass through the watchful eyes of customs officials. Here, the tides are beyond our command-clearance may be swift as a gull (three days), or as drawn-out as a doldrum (up to two weeks). Rest assured, we’ll signal you the moment our goods are released.
No Tariffs for Our US Crew
Let it be known: there’ll be no tariffs or hidden tributes for our loyal US backers. The cost of passage and portage has been paid in full-your treasure will reach you without further levy.

Before we dock and the cargo is dispatched, check your manifest! Verify and update your shipping address before the 11th of May. Our forwarder warns that, come the 30th of June, the price of dispatch will rise like a storm tide.
